Healthy and Natural Teas

Friday 21 December 2012

The market for nutraceutical tea is growing at a rapid rate in India and more and more people are looking forward to buying this new form of health teas. Nutraceutical tea is very good for health and people are opting for this instead of a normal cup of herbal tea or chai so they can infuse good health in their daily hectic lives. Most teas are natural other than the ones that are induced with artificial flavors - but to be called a health tea, people need to take a step forward and buy nutraceutical tea and not just herbal tea.

Nutraceutical teas are those teas that include standardized water soluble herbal extorts in them. These teas open a new way to deliver health in modern day lifestyle. Gone are the days when you need to take a capsule or a tablet - now your required dose of herbals is delivered in this new-age form through a tea. As the teas use standardized water soluble herbal extracts, the medicinal properties of the herbs are dissolved in your cup of hot water as you steep the tea bag. Over 70% of your body is water, so when you drink this tea, the herbal extracts are immediately absorbed by your body, and you notice health benefits immediately. There is no need to add milk or sugar to the tea.

These teas are currently being produced in India by only one company}, Unived. Unived uses high grown Assam and Nilgiri tea, and through a patented path-breaking technology blends the tea with standardized water soluble herbal extracts. Unived has three variants to the teas - Vitalitea, to make lovemaking more pleasurable, Activitea - to boost memory and cognition, and Digestea - to aid detox and digestion.

Activitea, for example , uses standardized water soluble herbal extracts of Bhrami, Shankapushpi, and Gotu Kola - all well known and proven to boost your memory, intellect, IQ, retention ability, and increase your overall brain power. By drinking this tea everyday, you not only get your daily cup of tea, but you also get the added benefits of these herbs that boost your brain power, and you do not end up consuming milk or sugar, as you otherwise would in your regular cup of chai.

Nowadays, there are a lot of companies that offer herbal teas and also sell the teas online. These companies use whole herb pieces (barks, leaves, fruits, flowers) in their teas. What people do not realize, is that while these are nice to look at and nice to smell, the active herbal components do not get dissolved from the bark or leaf of the herb in the hot cup of water - only the flavor gets dissolved. So while you get a cup of tea that tastes herbal - you do not get the specific medicinal benefits of the herbs that are used. Medicinal properties only get dissolved in water if a water soluble extract of the herb is used
